Party Dress & Winter Sale at Handle With Care

I was in my old hood, Lincoln Park/Old Town, last night for a Battle of the Boutiques planning meeting (BTW- this year’s Battle is going to be super hot, you should really be getting excited!) and I happened to park right in front of Handle with Care.

To my surprise, the posh boutique is having a couple of really great sales and I just had to share them with you. Just in time for holiday parties and winter weather they’re offering*:

  • 20% off Selected Party Dresses
  • 30% off Selected Winter Coats
  • Take an extra 25% off all Winter Merchandise
I also popped over to their website and was happy to see an array of budget-friendly items from picture frames to graphic tees. It seems that new-ish owner, Briston Coxe, is really doing right by this Old Town mainstay and chi-town PLRGs!

Glad their having a decent sale but the girls that work there are always snobby when I go in… a good enough reason for me to steer clear.

agreed, and I think it’s that way with alot of small boutiques. they carry this really expensive stuff and then treat people bad when they come in. I think they are only nice to the peeps that shop there on a regular basis. Bc, the chances of someone stopping on off the street and purchasing something at their ridiculous price points is unlikely.

i am not saying this is right, but i think this what happens to alot of small boutiques and I think that is why alot of them fail or it is hard for them to stay open. that rent can’t be cheap in that prime locale in OT.

Meg, I think they’ve been there since the early 80’s…a friend of mine told me she shopped there right after college and she’s almost 50. As a former business owner, every business strives, not always successfully, to meet their customer’s needs. I know there are a lot of stores I can’t afford….that’s life.
