Dress For Success

I have heard from multiple sources that a certain former Director of Sales at a very posh downtown hotel had quite the risqué taste in clothing. I also heard that she was smart and good at her job. But, mostly people talked about how slutty she dressed.

Moral of the story- to really get ahead in life (we’re talking in Chicago, not Hollywood) its best to show some modesty in the workplace. Thing is Poor Little Rich Girls are on a budget, so sometimes we try to be creative by throwing our “going out” clothes into our work rotation. Hey, there’s no shame in that because it saves us money. We need to be smart about it though or coworkers may not take us as seriously as we’d like. The goal at work should be to show off our talents and skills, not our goodies.

To Keep Things Work Appropriate:

Sheer, shiny or silky tops are fine for work if they are layered under or over another piece, like under a vest.

Tops with tiny straps look great under a blazer. Just make sure the front is not too low cut.

You can even wear your nighttime dresses for work, just be sure it is at least knee length and top it off with a longer jacket.

What other ways do you girls mesh your work and regular wardrobes?

I definitely pair my “going out” dresses with a longer cardigan and tights. I have also experimented with taking going out tanks (either silk or cotton) and wearing them underneath a suit jacket, matched with the suit’s pants or skirt. Make sure though if the tank is V-neck and goes down a little too far to wear a cami underneath!

    Thanks for the great tips!
Another way to make nighttime outfits work appropriate: stay away from sexy shoes. Too-high heels or strappy sandals can easily send an appropriately sexy outfit over the edge. Lower heels that cover more of your foot can ensure your outfit looks professional enough for work.

Hi, courteous clause, you stationed nonetheless if you don’t mind I’d append few remarks around approaches girls or guys. Particularly it can be hard when it comes to man woman relationships. The essential matter is your mental attitude, which should be close and open. If you have an position like that, any person shouldn’t catch any troubles that you have speaking as expressing. When you jump into a conversation, you commonly desire to require safe questions that are confident not to cause her any soreness. Once the conversation becomes some momentum, you can exact more physical questions. A good legerdemain is to memorise some interrogations she made a point of so whenever the conversation decelerates, you can boot one of these questions.
